What does your service provide?

We offer unlimited calls from a designated prisoner for one simple fee per month. Additional mobile numbers can be added. This allows prisoners to stay connected with their loved ones whilst paying only for landline calls, rather than paying significantly higher prices to make mobile calls.

How does it work?

Upon subscription, we assign a unique landline number that the prisoner adds to their approved contact list. When the prisoner dials this number, the call is seamlessly delivered to your chosen mobile number, ensuring cost-effective communication.

How long does it take to get set up?

We aim to issue your dedicated number within one working day. Once you receive it, you can test the number with 1-2 calls before sharing it with the prisoner, allowing them to add it to their PIN system.

If you encounter any issues after the prisoner has started using the number, please contact us as soon as possible.

Although the first payment is taken immediately, your monthly contract won’t begin until your number has been issued. This means if there are any delays (e.g., over a weekend), you won’t lose any paid days.

Will I need to use an app?

No, our service runs entirely app free. This means you can receive calls anywhere you would normally receive a mobile call. Unlike some providers, we are not reliant on an internet connection on your phone. We wanted to keep things really simple and with this arrangement, there is literally nothing for you to do other than receive the call.

Are there any restrictions?

Each subscription is limited to calls from just one designated prisoner. Other than that, there are no restrictions. Subscribers can receive calls from the designated prisoner as many times as they like, for as long as they like. If multiple prisoners wish to call the same mobile number, separate subscriptions are required for each prisoner.

Can I add more numbers?

Yes, you can add additional mobile numbers to your account for a small additional fee per month. This is ideal for families or friends who want to stay connected with the prisoner through different mobile devices.

How is the number added to the prisoner's PIN?

You will need to provide the number to the prisoner. They then need to submit the assigned number to the prison administration team for inclusion in their approved PIN list. The exactly details will vary by prison, but it is a straightforward process throughout the UK.

What happens if the prisoner is transferred to another facility?

Our service is designed to follow the prisoner throughout their transfers. The assigned landline number remains the same, and as long as the new facility allows the number on the approved contact list, the service will continue without interruption.

How can I manage my subscription or cancel the service?

If you wish to alter or cancel your subscription, you can email us with your request at hello@lockedtalk.co.uk. Please note that cancellations take effect at the end of your current monthly billing cycle, no partial refunds are offered for mid-month cancellations.

What is your refund policy?

You will only ever pay for a working service. If you find that our service is not compatible with the prison phone system, we will offer you a full refund. Just let us know by email. We do not offer refunds for cancellations, only where an issue exists.

Is your service affiliated with the prison system?

No, we are an independent service provider and are not affiliated with any prison or correctional facility. Our goal is to facilitate affordable communication between prisoners and their loved ones.
